(Update: It appears that I may have had too much coffee before I wrote this post. Please forgive its exaggerated sarcasm...)
…I know what you’re thinking… “forevers” isn’t a word. I know it isn’t because I looked it up and it’s not listed in the dictionary and also my computer underlines it in red to tell me I committed a crime! I made this poster on my new old Line-O-Scribe sign press using old wood type, and hesitated sharing it because of the way it fails to make sense and also because I didn’t want to feel like the new kid in class who doesn’t speak the language correctly…Can I just tell you that most kids were nice to me when I didn’t speak English, but some took it upon themselves to mockingly inform me that it’s pronounced “fif-teen” and not “five-teen”…oh, and I also had a teacher whom on my very first day told me that “in the morning we listen to announcements and then everyone sings the national anthem”…she LIED to me! No one sings! I was the only one friggin’ SINGING! And I didn’t even understand the words…And one more thing…if “forevers” isn’t acceptable, how come “eternities” is? Double standard? I think so…
Anyway, that’s my rant for today and after careful consideration of the fact that Collins Dictionary has added “amazeballs” to its searchable words I deem “forevers” VERY acceptable so hush red underline feature because I love this print even if it isn't grammatically correct. I will probably love this print for ten forevers...haha.
Wow, I’ve missed ranting to all of you…I have been spending most of my time in the studio trying to really churn out some great work so please forgive my absence but I think it will all be worth it in the end…I’m really happy with the way things are turning out. I love this new press too and the patience it requires to set up a print. I have to hand ink the type which ends up giving me surprising outcomes. Each print I pull is slightly different and perfectly imperfect...just the way I like it...so stay tuned because I will be showing you more as I get to know this press a little better.
I hope you're having a great day!
